Memory care at the Frank B. Foster Pavilion
This progressive memory care center serves those with Alzheimer’s disease or other memory issues. It reflects our best practices over almost two decades of serving families in Evanston and throughout the Chicago area. Located in the McGaw Care Center at Westminster Place, the Foster Pavilion is a beautiful, sensitive environment specifically designed to meet the needs of these residents. All rooms are private, and we offer three levels of memory care.
Familiar smells of just-prepared meals are part of a program to stimulate appetite and memories of home and family. Music, games, movies, off-campus trips and personal conversations keep residents engaged and motivated. Whenever possible, residents may take advantage of the programs and activities on campus, including religious services, holiday gatherings, and the Kimble Fitness and Therapeutic Center.
Perhaps most important is our practice of Person-Centered Care, where the same nursing assistant cares for a resident for the entire length of stay, within each level of memory care. We believe this innovative approach creates a relationship of trust, understanding and commitment.
Foster Pavilion has an extensive range of activities, including music programs, intellectual programs, outdoor activity, exercise and spiritual opportunities, all specifically geared to those with memory loss.
